Family Services - Following adoption, our staff and volunteer teams continue
being available to aid couples through post-adoptive services. These include regular
reunions of adopting couples, tutorial programs and a unique transcultural education
program.
International
Camp - Every summer, Living Bridges hosts Camp Guadalupe, a Latin American culture
camp which gives adopted children the opportunity to maintain their heritage while
offering local children and families the chance to learn about the music, art, dance
and culture of Latin America.
Hosting
Orphans - Living Bridges has arranged to have older orphaned children come and
visit our community during the summers for education, cultural exchange and hopefully
adoption. Since its inception, we have seen many of these children adopted by local
families who hosted them.
Transcultural
Education - Older, adoptive children often have difficulty adjusting to a new
language,
culture and education system. Also, home-based educators seek shared learning
experiences. In 1994, Living Bridges began a weekly
school which offers courses ranging from language to music. This program meets the
needs of many families within a trans-cultural
and faith-inspired setting.
Sponsorship - This program gives U.S. families an opportunity to directly help
impoverished
children from Mexico through yearly pledges. These donations provide food, clothing
and education, enabling impoverished children to break free from the cycle of poverty
to the promise of real future.
