Living Bridges has a threefold approach which is:
Saving Children - In 1990, the World Summit for children made a chilling pronouncement
that 40,000 children die needlessly each day from basic malnutrition, neglect, and
treatable illnesses. In response to this tragedy and to a compelling call from God
in our hearts, Living Bridges emerged as a practical way for families from the U.S.
to make a significant response to these poorest of the poor, the world's abandoned
children.
Strengthening Families - Living Bridges is a bridge of love and hope for families,
providing human service and a pastoral network. We have seen that transcultural and
adoptive families need ongoing support and unique services. To accomplish this, we
maintain a highly talented staff and volunteer teams who serve in many diverse areas
to meet such needs.
Stirring Faith in God - Involvement in Living Bridges encourages a call to deeper
Christian conversion. It is a journey of deep trust in God and each other. Families
that open their hearts to children-in-need are reflections of faith, hope and love
in action.
